Lab Coordinator, Biology

Position Summary

Loxo Oncology at Lilly conducts discovery research, clinical development and regulatory affairs for oncology, with the goal of creating a pipeline of therapies that have the potential to make a meaningful difference for patients. Loxo Oncology at Lilly was created in December 2019, combining the Lilly Research Laboratories oncology organization and Loxo Oncology, which was acquired by Lilly in early 2019. The unit has team members in Boulder, CO, Indianapolis, IN, New York City, South San Francisco, Stamford, CT, and Madrid, Spain.

The Lab Coordinator will provide critical support in a robust discovery biology lab environment through inventory tracking, lab organization, supply ordering, materials information tracking, data entry, and additional lab responsibilities. The Lab Coordinator will possess excellent organization, clear communication, eagerness to learn, and adaptability.

Roles and Responsibilities of the Position*

  • Organize lab supplies
  • Implement lab supply inventory system
  • Track inventory of general lab supplies and reorder as necessary
  • Equipment ordering and maintenance
  • Materials data entry
  • Lab maintenance, including coordinating biohazard waste pick-up
  • Assisting scientist with lab procedures

Required Qualifications and Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in the Life Sciences preferred but will also consider candidates with minimum 1-year experience in lab environment.
  • Strong communication skills and enthusiasm to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and applications. Enthusiasm to learn scientific computer software and electronic notebook.

Physical Demands / Travel

The physical demands of this job are consistent with light office and wet-lab duties. Requires ability to lift 20 lbs.
